David Featherstone - 

David brings a diverse and highly practical background, having worked across the health and social care sector, hospitality, construction, and the mobile holiday industry. This breadth of experience has given him a unique insight into workforce development across multiple environments, and a clear understanding of what effective, meaningful training truly looks like.

Having attended countless training courses himself, David recognised a gap between compliance-based training and genuinely engaging, impactful learning. Too often, courses delivered information without truly connecting with the people in the room. This inspired him to do things differently.

David founded his company with a clear vision: to deliver training that is engaging, interactive, and grounded in real-world experience. His focus has always been on ensuring that every course not only meets regulatory requirements but also empowers individuals with practical skills and confidence they can immediately apply within their roles.

David is equally passionate about supporting trainers themselves. He believes in developing others, increasing opportunities for continuous professional development, and creating a collaborative training community where knowledge and expertise are shared. His ethos is simple: when people work together, outcomes improve for everyone.

Jimi Kuruvakadua -

Looking back on the last few years, I am filled with so much gratitude for the town I call home and the people I have the privilege to serve. My journey as a Mount Ward Councillor at Fleetwood Town Council has always been about more than just a title—it’s about being a voice for our streets and a champion for our community.

My heart has always been with those who served. As the Armed Forces Lead for the Council and a Co-Founder of AF4V (Armed Forces & Veterans), I’ve seen firsthand the power of camaraderie. Whether it’s through the Commonwealth Veterans & Families Support Group or our morning get-togethers, making sure our veterans and their families never feel alone is my greatest mission.

This passion for resilience carries over into my work with Commando Experiences and Commando Rugby School. There’s nothing quite like seeing a young person find their confidence through bushcraft or teamwork—building those "skills for life" that stay with them forever.

I’m also embarking on a new chapter that feels deeply personal. I’ve recently gainedmy qualification in Psychology of Mental Health at Blackpool and The Fylde College. This FdA in Mental Health and Resilience is more than just a degree to me—I have gained tools to better support our local mental health services and help our community thrive from the inside out.

From my time as a Community Liaison Officer at Bispham Campus to the work I do today, one thing remains the same: I am here for you, Fleetwood. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story.

Martin Layton -

Hello, I’m Martin Layton and I have been privileged to work in Health and Social Care for 37 years, the last 22 as Registered Manager (CQC) for a 3rd sector company. I have experience in all aspects of Management as well as Training, Advocacy and Conflict Resolution. Other roles I have had are a business owner, Redcoat, Chair of the Lancashire Provider forum and helped small businesses to set up. Originally from the Midlands, I settled in Lancashire 37 years ago and love it. I live with my Partner and 2 dogs and enjoy life. The Social Care sector has its challenges, but I truly hope to make a difference! I’m excited to be a part of CCAUK as I know their values will be aligned with mine to make a difference.

We were founded in 2008, with an aim of reducing homelessness and re-offending by supporting men and women into stable housing and employment. We later added food redistribution to our model, in partnership with Fare Share, to reduce food waste and tackle food poverty.
